Invite a co-director to your childcare on HoppingIn

Running a childcare is rarely a one-person job. Between the director, an assistant director, and the office manager, there's usually more than one person who needs to manage rooms, open spots, and handle booking requests. Until now, HoppingIn tied each childcare to a single account — so a second director had to share a login, which is neither secure nor practical.

Today we're fixing that. You can now invite additional directors to a childcare that already exists on HoppingIn.

What's new

If you're an owner of a childcare on HoppingIn, you can send an email invitation to a colleague and have them join your childcare with their own account. They accept the invite, set up their login, and land directly on your childcare's dashboard — no shared passwords, no re-entering your childcare's details, no support ticket.

Every director you add gets their own account, so you always know who opened a spot, who accepted a booking request, and who invited whom.

Two roles, so access fits the person

When you send an invitation, you choose the role that fits:

• Operator — day-to-day management: rooms, spots, the roster, and booking requests. Perfect for assistant directors and office staff.
• Owner — everything an operator can do, plus the ability to invite and manage other directors.

Owners can invite people as either operators or owners. Operators can invite additional operators to help share the workload, but only owners can grant owner-level access — so control of your childcare stays where it should.

How it works

1. Open your Childcare page and click Invite a Director.
2. Enter your colleague's email address and choose their role.
3. They receive an email with a secure link.
4. New to HoppingIn? They create their account right on the invitation page and are dropped straight into your childcare's dashboard. Already have an account? They sign in and accept with a single click.

That's it. They're in, with the right level of access, under their own name.

Built to be safe

• Invitations are private. Only the email address you invited can accept — a forwarded link won't let someone else into your childcare.
• Invitations expire after 14 days. Need to re-send? Just invite again — we'll refresh the link and update the role if you've changed your mind, without creating duplicates.
• Everything is logged. Every invitation sent and every director who joins is recorded, so your childcare always has a clear history of who has access and how they got it.
